The red Nantucket Lightship docked just off Christopher Columbus Park at 55 Commercial Wharf is on sale for $5.2 million. It can be used as a private residence as well as rented out for chartered or corporate events or perhaps a murder-mystery party or bridge tournament.

The 4,000 square feet of living space includes six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. “Highly-skilled carpenters were commissioned to build the interior in a manner maintaining the structural integrity of the ship,” according to the Douglas Elliman listing.

The 128-foot-long, 30-foot-wide vessel—which was long ago used as a floating lighthouse—is also apparently meant to serve as “a new model for historic marine preservation.” The owners selling it now purchased the then-dilapidated trawler 19 years back on eBay. They paid about $126,000.
