Victorian bow-front has six floors, but needs a lot of work

The more than 5,400-square-foot Victorian townhouse at 23 Upton Street in the South End is on the sales market now for $4.195 million through Keller Williams’ Jennifer Gelfand.

The listing makes clear that whatever advantages the six-floor house might have in terms of bones and location it does need a significant amount of work: “An exceptional opportunity to transform a traditional bow-front Victorian from faded glory to a luxurious townhouse ... [T]his building has unlimited potential to become majestic once again.”

That potential includes a possible roof deck—which would have some pretty spectacular views of the skyline in nearby Back Bay—and two parking spaces behind the property. What’d you think?
