What $650,000 buys around Boston now

These newer listings include a house in West Roxbury as well as condos in JP, Back Bay, and Southie—which one would you buy?

South Boston

Unit 2 at 494-496 East Fourth Street just north of Dorchester Heights runs to 1,342 square feet, and includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The condo fee is $175.

Back Bay

The 492-square-foot Unit 1 at 439 Marlborough Street includes one bedroom and one bathroom, and there is a garage parking space available for an additional cost. The condo fee is $233.

Jamaica Plain

Unit 3 at 3141 Washington Street does come with a parking space—plus a shared guest space. The 1,880-square-foot four bedroom with three and a half bathrooms also has a back deck. The condo fee for the duplex is $500.

West Roxbury

In West Roxbury, $650,000 buys an entire house—in this case, 1,546-square-foot cape with three bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a back deck and yard. There’s a finished basement as well at 35 Vershire Street.

Downtown

Unit 15R at 151 Tremont Street right off Boston Common runs to 735 square feet, and includes one bedroom and one bathroom. There’s garage parking for an additional cost, and amenities at the building include an outdoor pool and a fitness center. The condo fee is $431.
