What $700,000 buys in Boston’s South End

It looks like the sum or thereabouts commands as many as two bedrooms plus perks such as a washer-dryer

Southwest Corridor area

Unit 2 at 234 West Newton Street is a garden-level condo running to 635 square feet and containing two bedrooms and one bathroom. The $710,000 tag includes a deeded parking space and washer-dryer. The HOA fee is $186.

Boston University Medical Campus area

Now toward where the South End meets Roxbury and Unit 308 at 691 Massachusetts Avenue. The 902-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bathroom is part of an eight-year-old development, and includes a private balcony and in-unit washer-dryer. The spread is asking $699,000, with an HOA fee of $444.75.

Near Shawmut and Massachusetts avenues

There’s in-unit laundry too at Unit 7 at 600 Massachusetts Avenue. The 1,050-square-foot two-bedroom, one-bathroom is on the street level of the seven-unit building. The asking is $699,000, and the HOA is $136.50.

Along Columbus Avenue

The 694-square-foot Unit 1 at 408 Columbus Avenue is part of a five-unit building. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom duplex was also recently renovated; and it’s now asking $699,000 with an HOA fee of $174.

Boston University Medical Campus area

A gut-renovation produced the 765-square-foot penthouse at 55 East Springfield Street, a two-bedroom, one-bathroom duplex in a five-unit building. The spread, which includes a washer-dryer, is asking $679,000. The HOA fee is not available.
