Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a regular column that explores what one can rent or buy for a set dollar amount (or thereabouts) in the Boston area. Is one woman’s studio another woman’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Next up is $700,000 in Cambridge.
Unit 2 at 7 Lopez Street in the Central Square area is asking $699,999. It comes with two bedrooms and one bathroom in its 897 square feet. There’s also extra storage in the building’s basement. The condo fee is $408.
In West Cambridge, Unit 301 at 50 Follen Street is $699,900 for its one bedroom and one bathroom over 665 square feet. The condo fee is $268.28.
Also in the West Cambridge-Harvard Square borderlands is Unit 214 at 1 Aberdeen Way. The 994-square-foot duplex with one bedroom and two bathrooms includes a private off-street parking space within its $698,000 tag. The condo fee is $457.
The approximately 1,500-square-foot house at 21 Winter Street in East Cambridge is being offered for $699,900. It is a fixer-upper, to be sure, with no interior photos available. But it is rare to find a single-family in East Cambridge for this price.
We end in Harvard Square, where Unit 4 at 4 Chauncy Terrace is asking $650,000—far off from $700,000, yes, but this Cambridge, where prices are high and the inventory slim. The 670-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bathroom comes with additional storage in the building.
