Credit the warmth and sunshine: Bluebikes says it set a single-day ridership record on Tuesday, June 4. Users took 10,035 trips, the first time the ride-share has ever exceeded the 10,000-rider mark.
Bluebikes—which operates in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and Brookline, which also collectively own the ride-share—says that those 10,035 riders pedaled more than 13,000 miles and burned over 877,000 calories.
The June 4 record might not stand that long. As Bluebikes notes, it’s expanding in 2019 with nearly 50 new stations (including in Everett) and 1,000 fresh bikes. Stay tuned.
