Unit 5A at 481 Harrison Avenue in the South End is in a former commercial building that a developer converted three years ago.

What was the building’s former life? It at one time served as the horse stables for the old Jordan Marsh & Co. retail chain (hence the building’s name, Jordan Lofts). Given that provenance, the 2,150-square-foot unit boasts high ceilings—11 feet in most places—and large arched windows.

The three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom is on sale now through the Charles Realty for a cool $3,695,000. That includes two garaged parking spaces.
