The bones of the seven-room, 3,290-square-foot house at 31 Cumberland Street in the Back Bay-South End borderlands date from 1888.
But the owner of the three-level pile has renovated and built it out to modern specs on the inside that nevertheless manage to accentuate some of that history, too—note the living room-kitchen ceiling. A sizable roof deck crowns the whole affair, which includes three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
Thirty-one Cumberland is asking $4.995 million through Gibson Sotheby’s Beth Dickerson as of this weekend.
