Back Bay townhouse with six bathrooms and five fireplaces asks $9.1 million

It’s the year’s first Boston listing to scratch $10 million, and it’s a doozy

The circa-1899 townhouse at 309 Marlborough Street in Back Bay dropped on the sales market on Monday for $9.1 million, the priciest new listing in Boston so far this year.

The spread includes all the bells and whistles such a location and such a tag would belie. There are nine rooms total, with five bedrooms and six bathrooms (two half-baths), as well as five fireplaces and a roof deck with its own bar. There’s also a garden terrace and an elevator to every level.

Two parking spaces are included with the property, which Gibson Sotheby’s George Ballantyne has listing. Have a look around.

A sitting room next to some glass French doors and with a table with chairs and a fireplace.
A large kitchen with an island and lots of cabinetry.
A living room with a couch and two chairs facing a fireplace.
A bedroom with a large bed and an ottoman arranged around a fireplace.
The top of a staircase leading to a roof deck, and there’s a wetbar in a small head house at the top of the stairs before you go onto the deck.
