One of the trends that needs to continue in the 2020s if the Boston area ever hopes to claw its way out of either its housing-shortage or traffic-congestion holes is transit-oriented development—building on or near T and commuter-rail stops to get people out of their cars more and to, of course, provide much-needed housing.

The five-unit 530 Dorchester Street in South Boston is one such development. Expected to open this year, it’s just north of the Red Line’s Andrew stop. And within 530 Dorchester is Unit 2, which is on sale now for $629,000 through Keller Williams’ Anthony Amaru.

The condo runs to 641 square feet and contains one bedroom as well as one bathroom. There are touches such as central air and an intercom system. It also comes with one heated garage parking space—but, again, there’s the T. What’d you think?
