The spread includes parking, a washer-dryer, and two decks—is that a deal?

Somerville as a whole is increasingly as expensive as its neighbors Boston and Cambridge. In its East Somerville enclave, though, prospective buyers can still winkle out a deal.

One such option perhaps is Unit 2 at 25 Kensington Avenue near Assembly Square and not too far from the future Gilmartin Square stop on the extended Green Line. The 1,190-square-foot three-bedroom, two-bathroom is asking $525,000 through Compass. It includes in-unit laundry and two decks, front and back, as well as a parking spot.

That price, incidentally, is pretty much in line with condo tags region-wide. A report culling closed deals in December 2019 found the median condo sales price to be $542,250. Still, in Boston, for one, it was more than $150,000 higher.
