The 2,491-square-foot Queen Anne Victorian at 6 Lombard Street in mighty, mighty Dorchester’s Ashmont area dates from 1892, and has been in the same family for six decades, according to the Leopold & McMasters Realty listing.

The four-bedroom with one and a half bathrooms shows that history in a lot of places—in a good way. It’s as if its pocket seating and kitchen tile, among other charming features, were picked mid-20th century for their sheer staying power.

The house—retailing as it is for $739,900—could also be considered a veritable steal in today’s Boston real estate market. Perhaps even a starter home, though that’s hard to say. What’d you think?
