What $2,100 rents around Boston now

Discover what the monthly sum commands in Dorchester, the South End, the North End, and elsewhere

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a regular column that explores what one can rent or buy for a set dollar amount (or thereabouts) in the Boston area. Is one woman’s studio another’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Next up is $2,100 a month in different Boston neighborhoods.

East Boston

Unit 6 at 71 Lubec Street in Eastie’s Jeffries Point area is on the top floor and includes a balcony. The 610-square-foot apartment has one bedroom and one bathroom. There’s laundry in the building.

Dorchester

Now to Dot’s Lower Mills, on the edge of Boston, where Unit 2 at 24 Ventura Street unfolds over 1,500 square feet and includes three bedrooms and one bathroom. There’s laundry in the building, and the rent covers one off-street parking spot.

East Boston

Back in Eastie, between Eagle Hill and Orient Heights (and right near Logan Airport). Unit 2 at 606 Saratoga Street is an 800-square-foot two-bedroom, one-bathroom. It comes with a private deck, and there’s laundry in the building.

South End

Unit 4 at 75 Chandler Street toward where the South End meets Bay Village is a 300-square-foot studio. There’s laundry in the building.

North End

We end in the North End, where Unit 1 at 9 Hanover Street is asking $2,100 a month for its 500 square feet. It has one bedroom and one bathroom, and there’s laundry in the building.
