Boston’s tallest building west of downtown now open

New, 3 comments

340 feet high

The 30-story, 340-foot Pierce Boston condo and apartment tower at Brookline Avenue and Boylston Street in Fenway officially opened on March 1.

The building is the tallest in Boston outside of the city’s downtown area and the tallest in Massachusetts west of Back Bay (and it’ll probably stay that way for a while).

Pierce Boston—which Samuels & Associates and Landsea developed and Arquitectonica designed—includes 109 (very popular) condos and 240 apartments. It also includes more than 20,000 square feet of ground-floor restaurant and retail space.

The angular, glassy tower serves now as a de facto architectural signpost for those coming into Boston from the west, much like the unfolding Boston Landing does in Brighton. What’d you think?
