Brighton residential development would replace three-building Hotel Boston

114 condos, 64 apartments

A group of developers wants to replace Brighton’s 74-room Hotel Boston at 1650 Commonwealth Avenue with two residential buildings that a one-story underground podium would connect.

The 163,000-square-foot development, officially at 40 Mount Hood Road, would include 64 apartments and 114 condos. One building would be seven stories and the other five.

The condos and apartments would range from studios to three-bedrooms, with nine of the condos as two-story townhouse-style homes fronting Egremont Road. The complex would include 142 parking spaces in that underground podium.

If the Stantec-designed project gets the requisite approvals, the developers hope to start construction soon and wrap it the spring of 2019. Stay tuned.
