Gov. Charlie Baker, the Boston Celtics, New Balance Athletics, and the development team behind the massive Boston Landing project in Brighton plan on the morning of June 19 to hold an official grand opening for the Celtics’ new practice facility there.
The Auerbach Center at New Boston World Headquarters at 46 Life Street—named for the legendary Celtics coach and front-office executive—runs to 70,000 square feet and includes a 40-foot glass wall around its practice courts. Those courts are therefore visible to tens of thousands of commuters on the nearby Massachusetts Turnpike.

The approximately 14-acre, 1.76 million-square-foot Boston Landing in general includes its own commuter-rail stop and a 250,000-square-foot HQ for sneaker giant New Balance, the project’s lead developer. The Boston Bruins also have a practice facility there as well, including a rink.
There will be up to 650,000 square feet of Class A office space and a 175-key hotel, plus apartments.
