Newbury College could sell its 7.8-acre campus along Fisher Avenue in Brookline’s Fisher Hill neighborhood as soon as this summer, according to the brokerage listing the property.
The financially struggling school announced in December 2018 that it would close after the spring semester. That immediately put its choice location in real estate play.
It is not clear how much the campus will trade for nor who or what might buy it. State Attorney General Maura Healey would have to approve any sale because Newbury is a nonprofit.
Right now, according to listing brokerage Colliers International, several unnamed suitors have expressed interest. And the town of Brookline is exploring a possible purchase, per the Globe. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out the long view of the property below.
