Developer City Realty is out with its latest renderings for the multi-building project it intends to build at Harvard Avenue and Cambridge Street in Allston.

The project—dubbed Allston Square and still under city review—would include 341 housing units, including 237 condos and 104 rentals as well as live-work spaces. The apartments and condos would run from studios to three-bedrooms.

Six buildings total would comprise Allston Square. These include the preservation of two existing properties: Allston Hall at 4 Braintree Street, which would return as a community space but with loft apartments and retail; and the Allen Building at 334 Cambridge Street, the former home of Jack Young Auto Parts, which would become housing.

The four new buildings are due to include housing, and the project totals is due to include 10,000 square feet of feet of additional street-level public space, according to City Realty. The developer also says that its Allston Square would add more than 6,000 square feet of new sidewalks, more than 9,000 square feet of public art space, and 46 new street trees.

“We worked very closely with the community to design a project that will be an asset to the community for generations to come,” Josh Fetterman, director of project development at City Realty, said in a statement. “By connecting bold new design with the historic character of the neighborhood, our goal is to create a project that reflects Allston-Brighton storied history and exciting future.”

Plans for Allston Square have been on the table since spring 2018. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, check out more of the latest renderings, courtesy of City Realty.
