A four-story, 38-unit apartment complex will fill a vacant industrial lot at 43 Lochdale Road in Roslindale, a stone’s through from Washington Street and near the Jamaica Plain border.
The Boston Planning and Development Agency signed off on the project in mid-August. The development includes 32 market-rate units and six income-restricted ones. Most of the units—30—will be two-bedrooms, with three one-bedrooms, three two-bedrooms with studies, and two studios.
The project is also due to have 39 parking spaces and bike storage. It’s less than a mile south, too, of the Orange Line’s Forest Hills stop.
The project from local developer Owen Kiernan also mandates what BPDA documents describe as “several pedestrian improvements to Lochdale Road and Washington Street, including the construction of a new sidewalk, installation of two new crosswalks, and the construction of five new pedestrian ramps and one curb extension.”
No word yet on the construction timeline. Stay tuned.
