Everything from the priciest listing in Somerville (a relatively modest $795,000) to a Milton estate modeled after a chateau at Versailles. Mon dieu.Read More
10 Whales Beyond Boston! Think Versailles... and the Red Sox
1. Happy Hollow
The estate features a 8,943-square-foot main house as well as a 2,500-bottle wine cellar and grass from Fenway's infield in its gardens. It's asking $6,950,000.
2. 53 Francis Avenue
The 5-BR, 5.5-BA 6,314-square-foot manse rests along what used to be commonly called Professors' Row near Harvard. It's asking $3,950,000, and is the priciest listing on the Cambridge market right now.
3. Davis Square Lofts, #2C
This 2-BR, 2-BA, 1,314-square-footer lies (lay? has lain?) just off the Minute Man path, with plenty of exposed brick and beams. It wants $795,000, and is the priciest Somerville listing showing up on the MLS right now.
4. 1014 Boylston Street
This more than 2 acre estate in Chestnut Hill includes a 9,715-square-foot mansion with six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. It has a tag of $8,400,000. Gobsmacking, yes, but it was chopped by $500,000 just a few days ago. (This puppy really needs a formal name, by the way, something with "abbey" or "manor" in it. CORRECTION: It does, our fault: the Balemore Estate.)
5. 161 Clyde Street
Chestnut Hill, MA
The 5-BR, 5-BA, 6,615-square-foot mansion sits on a nearly 1.5-acre estate that wants $5,200,000.
6. 20 Claremont Street
The 6-BR, 7.5-BA, new-construction house unfolds over 8,100 square feet and includes a three-car garage. It wants a relatively modest $3,800,000.
7. 16 Rockmont Road
Just south of the Concord Turnpike, this 6-BR, 4.5-BA new-construction house wants $3,350,000, and is the priciest listing on the Belmont market right now.
8. 56 Russell Avenue
The priciest listing in Watertown ($1,135,000), it has four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, and 4,385 square feet.
9. 34 Amelia Drive

Good god: Named after a chateau on the grounds of Versailles in France, this 23-room manse, on roughly 12 acres, is far and away Milton's priciest listing: $4,950,000.
