Back Bay, perhaps Boston's most expensive neighborhood pound for pound, is usually not on the radar of first-time home buyers or those looking to downsize. Yet the enclave does offer options for those without cash to burn or family money to heave.

This weekend's open house tour looks at a half-dozen condos retailing for under three-quarters of a million dollars. They are for the most part in good nick and smack-dab in the thick of the utterly charming neighborhood.
