As Renters Week 2015 swings along, we bring you an updated version of our ongoing Curbed Boston Rental Heatmap. It is meant to guide you as you plunge forth into the Thunderdome that is renting in this region. The 12-point map includes not only newer developments such as One Greenway in Chinatown and the the Merc at Moody & Main in Waltham (rendered above), but complexes offering tenant sweeteners such as the Batch Yard in Everett and the Riverbend on the Charles in busy, busy Watertown. The massive apartment-retail-condo complex has begun opening piece by piece. It will include 315 apartments total; and at the start of the year was offering one month of no rent. Studios start at around $2,600, 1-BRs at around $3,200 and 2-BRs at around $4,100. There are also 3-BRs available.

Leasing started in February 2014 at this 240-unit tower. It is offering up to two months of no rent. Both studios and 1-BRs start at around $3,000 a month; and 2-BRs start at around $6K.

The Batch Yard

The grand opening for this 328-unit complex was on Oct. 1, 2014. Tenant sweeteners now include no broker fees and the chance to win thousands of dollars in a lottery. Rents range from around $1,600 for a studio to around $3,100 for a 3-BR.

AVA Theater District

The 398-unit, cantilevered tower is the biggest Boston apartment opening of 2015 (it dropped earlier this spring). Studios start at $2,414 a month, 1-BRs at $2,650 and 3-BRs at $3,900.

The Merc at Moody & Main

The 269-unit complex released its first 87 apartments to the market this spring, with studios starting at $2,095 a month, 1-BRs at $2,495 and 2-BRs at $2,895.

AVA Somerville

The 250-unit complex dropped late last year in Somerville's evolving Assembly Row. Studios start at $2,050 a month, 1-BRs at $2,305, and 2-BRs at $2,525. The complex is offering one month of no rent on studios. Its 1-BRs appear to be all leased, according to the website.

The Viridian

The 342-unit development opened in May (leasing started in January). Its studios, 1-BRs, 2-BRs and 3-BRs range from $2,300 a month to more than $4,700.

Currents on the Charles

The 200-unit development is, um, currently leasing, with 1-BRs starting at $2,195, 2-BRs at $2,575 and 3-BRs at $3,480. The complex is offering up to one month of no rent and free garage parking for a year.

Riverbend on the Charles
