The Oldest Massachusetts Houses for Sale for Under $215,000

All date from at least the 18th century

View as Map

It's one of those urban-dweller dreams: chucking the bustle of the city for some little slice of rural bliss in an aged fixer-upper, the purchase of which will not break the bank even if the renovations eventually do. To that end, we've mapped the oldest Massachusetts homes for sale as of March 31 for under $215,000 (data courtesy of research site NeighborhoodX and listings engine Zillow).

It turns out there are eight. These are basically the oldest affordable market-rate houses in our fair commonwealth, and all trace their bones to at least the 1700s. Many need quite a bit of work. Often, the relatively low sales price buys a shell, with the rest up to the imagination ... and the contractors. Let the real estate archaeology commence!
