The Boston area boasts some of the nation's most fabulous buildings, parks, plazas, libraries, and museums. That's what you get when you combine an incredible history with a driven and creative populace.
Not all are created equal, though, at least in terms of what visitors and even locals should get to know.
That is why we have the Curbed Boston Pocket Guide, a seasonal rundown of the essential places in the region that everyone should at some point seek out should they want to understand what makes Greater Boston unique and desirable.
For the summer version, too, we've emphasized outdoor spaces.
Thank you to all who have nominated particular sites since the spring Pocket Guide. We'll update this for the fall, too, so feel free to drop us further suggestions at the always-discreet Curbed Boston Tipline. And now on to the map!
[Note: Places are mapped geographically, starting out in Lexington and then into Cambridge; then over to Charlestown, and across the river into the rest of Boston.]
