It’s peak pumpkin-picking season again. Where to do it near the Boston area?

Try these 10 spots, which include real do-it-yourself farmsteads, plus stands and fields where buyers can assess the locally grown gourds before choosing the perfect one.

Click through to the websites to determine prices and the best times to visit as well as other activities—apple-picking, hay-riding, etc.—that might also be available during a visit.

Note, too: Several of these eight options are within I-495. In other words, they’re pretty close to Boston.
